Traditionally, ultrasonic knife was available only in a sizable body.
But Active Knife offered by Ichikoh's Accessory Department is made to be small size and light weight by ICHIKOH's technology.
By vibrating the blade in high frequency, resin or wood, as well as thick paper, can be cut sharply.
Active Knife was originally developed as a special drilling tool for making holes to mount retrofit cornering lamps, which Accessory Department is selling, on a resin made bumper.
Because of various advantages, however, such as operation under 100V AC power available at home, no noise or vibration, no chips, and clean and sharp cut surface which is unique to ultrasonic cutting, it is expected to be used in various applications such as prototyping or hobby model making by individuals in addition to working and mounting of auto parts.
